Can I provide my own alcohol for my event?
No, VDB being a liquor license holder must administer all alcohol sales.

Can furnishing my own alcohol result in a significant savings?
No, don't be fooled by venues that do not hold a liquor license and promote that you can furnish your own alcohol at significant savings. You will still have the cost of the marked up bar set-ups, bar staffing and cost of alcohol at minimum retail. Valley Dale Ballroom holds a liquor license and has liquor liability insurance. Venues that do not hold a liquor license do not have liquor liability insurance which could be a major risk for the client.

Does a caterer have a mobile or full off-premise liquor license?
Certain catering companies market that they have mobile and/or a full off-premise liquor license that can be utilized for the sale of alcohol at the premise ("venue") that does not hold a liquor license. According to the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Liquor Control (614-655-2360) there is no such thing as a mobile or off-premise liquor license that can be utilized for the sale of alcohol at a venue that does not hold a liquor license. These venues that do not hold a liquor license do not have liquor liability insurance which could be a risk to the consumer.

Is there free onsite parking for my guests?
Yes

Can I use an outside Caterer?
Yes, approved caterers must sign a catering policy form and comply with all VDB policies. Like most other facilities, VDB charges each caterer a "facility fee." This fee is charged to your caterer based on your food, service and non-alcoholic beverage costs. The Grand Valley Dale Ballroom also has preferred caterers and have designed all-inclusive packages and there is no additional facility fee.

What is the purpose of security?
VDB has a long term stellar security record utilizing Columbus Police Department off-duty officers in uniform. The purpose of VDB's security policy is for the safety of patrons, event staff, clients and vendors as well as assisting in the parking lot and with handicapped guests.

Can I obtain a detailed estimate/proposal before I book the ballroom?
Yes, these are provided upon request.

Can I place a hold on the ballroom?
No, because VDB receives a multitude of inquiries for specific dates, we are unable to place a "hold" on the ballroom. The ballroom is not officially reserved until VDB possesses a signed contract and initial deposit.

When will the security/damage deposit be returned?
The deposit will be refunded within 30 days following the event, assuming there is no damage to or loss of property, cleanup has been properly completed by caterer and all fees have been paid in full. The deposits are returned the mass majority of the time.

Will there be another event going on the same time as mine?
No! The clients have the exclusive use of the ballroom.

Are tables and chairs included in the rental price?
Yes! Tables and chairs are included and set up for you.

How many guests do the tables hold?
VDB uses 60" round tables which hold 8-10 people.

When will my vendors (i.e. florist, caterer, etc.) be able to have access to the ballroom?
They can get in two hours prior to guest arrival to set up for the event unless special arrangements have been made and agreed to in writing by VDB.
